India is a land of various religions, different philosophy and spirituals beliefs. The  worship of various religions and its rituals play a significant role in every aspect of human life in the country.

It is said that Hinduism and Buddhism is Originated from India. It is also the father nation of  one of the oldest religion known as Zoroastrianism and Jainism.  Sikhism is another very recognizable religion which began here bringing together the best aspects of Hinduism and Islam. India Has got the wide range of religions and its followers. You will find followers of religions originated in other parts of the world such as Islam, Christianity, Bahaism and Judaism.

One can find followers of the Hindu Religion all over the country. However Muslims who follows Islam are mosly found in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. Areas of Nagaland , Mizoram and Meghalaya states are full of Christian followers whereas Buddhists are found in large numbers in Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Bengal and Sikkim. Most of the Sikh community and followers are found in Punjab. Majority of Jains live in the states of  Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Gujarat
