Annapurneshwari Temple (Karnataka)

Sri Annapurneshwari temple located at Horanadu, is located in the picturesque surroundings of Western Ghats of Karnataka. Horanadu is 100 kms south-west of Chikmagalur, located in the midst of thick forests and valleys.

Horanadu is a place of enchanting natural scenery, the ancient temple of Goddess Annapurneshwari here has been restored and renamed as the Adi-Shaktyatmaka Shree Annapurneshwari. The single image depicts the Goddess Annapurneshwari standing on a peeta with Shanku, Chakra, Sri Chakra and Devi Gayathri in her four hands.

The name "Annapurneshwari" means "Feeding one and all". The uniqueness of this temple is everybody who visit this temple are provided with food (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) and place to sleep in the temple premises. Shri Bheemeshwara Joshi is the present Dharmakartaru of Annapurneshwari temple.
